We’ve tried to make the Ministry of Sleep offer as simple and straight forward as possible, but if you have any questions or queries, feel free to get in touch or read our FAQ’s below to see if they can help.

Why is there only one type of Ministry of Sleep mattress?

Part of our mission is to make buying a quality mattress easier, simpler with less hassle.

It’s true there are literally thousands of different mattresses available, all with ‘unique’ characteristics, but we believe the best mattress is one that moulds to your body and provides comfort and support to every user.

So we’ve developed what we believe is the best mattress we can – we’ve made it simple, all you have to do is select your size! Simple.

How heavy is the mattress & can I use it on any type of bed?

The mattress ranges from 50lbs for a single up to 90lbs for a Super King.

Our mattresses are compressed and rolled for easy delivery and carrying but we do recommend that customers take care when lifting and use recommended lifting techniques. Be mindful of your lifting limits and seek help if you think that you need it – otherwise you may be sending more time in bed than your expected!

The memory foam mattress can be used on any surface or bed. You can even use it on the floor. The foam provides stability and the memory foam layer provides the support and comfort regardless of what bed type you have.

And because we make our mattresses to order, you can also choose whether you need a standard UK size or the slightly different sizes that European brands like IKEA often use.

Where is the mattress made?

All our mattresses, covers and boxes are made in the UK.

Most of our suppliers are in the North West and this is where our good ideas come from too! As a result you receive a high quality product, with straight forward and honest approach to customer service.

Is the mattress certified? What safety tests have been conducted on the mattress?

Our foam complies with the requirements of Schedule 1, Part 1, The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Amended Regulations 1988.

The physical properties are measured using test methods based upon BS EN ISO 2439, BS EN ISO 845, BS EN ISO 1798 and BS EN 1856.

Which basically means it’s safe, a lot safer than cheaper imported memory foam and durable. Don’t take chances with safety in the home – we recommend customer’s should always buy tested and accredited furniture.

Why does Ministry of Sleep use memory foam?

We use layers of memory foam to make our mattress because we believe it provides the best comfort
and support for people of all shapes, sizes, weights and sleep styles.

Memory foam is special because when you lie on the mattress surface,
it absorbs your body’s form and moulds to your shape providing support just where it’s needed. Then when you move or get out of bed, the intelligent construction in the memory foam re-bounds instantly to it’s original form, so each time you lie on it, it’s like the first ever time!

Memory Foam mattress are used throughout the NHS and by professional and amateur sportsmen and women alike to help with fast recovery from aches, strains and more severe injuries.

If you suffer from back pain, bad posture, arthritis, rheumatism, neck problems etc. or simply find it difficult to sleep our aim is to help you live your life more comfortably and our mattress is specifically designed to provide better support and circulation for people to enjoy a better, more relaxing sleep.

Will memory foam form a crease or dip where i lie?

This is a characteristic of low quality mattresses where over time a dip occurs.
Our memory foam has been selected for it’s quality and bounce-backabilty and will not leave a dip or crease after use.

Does it need flipping?

The active layer on a memory foam mattress is on the top and its core characteristic is the ability to reform after every use.

So, no memory foam mattresses do not need flipping, we do however recommend you turn them every 3-6 months for optimum effectiveness.

How is the mattress delivered?

Our unique box has been designed specifically to make delivering and receiving your mattress easier.

Your mattress is compressed and rolled in a polythene membrane before being packed. This makes it easier to transport to your door and easier to deliver.

Once inside your home, the compact box and carry handles make it easy for one person to move the mattress to whichever room it’s intended for too.

Once your order has been processed, we will email notification that your mattress is on it’s way and a tracking number.

Can I book a specific timed delivery? What if I’m not in?

We currently don’t offer this service but hope too soon.

The packaged mattress is pretty compact, so our couriers will try and leave it with a neighbour if your not in or you’ll be able to arrange directly with the courier to deliver it next time you in.

How long before I can use my mattress?

Generally an unwrapped mattress takes about 2 hours to rebound fully and be ready for use.

We recommend you unwrap the mattress in a well ventilated room and leave it uncovered whilst it reforms.

Does it smell?

The simple answer is – Yes..but does it last – No and is it harmful – absolutely No!

Memory Foam begins life as a liquid and during the cooling process a mild odour occurs. It’s not toxic and shouldn’t be noticeable after a couple of days in a well ventilated room.

How does the 100 night trial work – what’s the catch?

There is no catch. It’s as simple as we can make it. You receive your mattress and try it out for at least 14 nights. If you’re not happy and it’s been less than 100 nights contact us on email at sales@ministry-of-sleep.com with your customer details and we’ll arrange to pick up your mattress and give you a full refund.

How do I return my mattress?

We hope that you don’t need to – and sorry if you find that you do.

email sales@ministry-of-sleep.com with your name and order number and we’ll be in touch to arrange pick up and to process your refund.

How long can the mattress remain packaged?

We don’t recommend that you leave your mattress packaged for longer than two weeks from receipt.

The longer it remains compressed the longer it will take to rebound into shape.

Will I find it cheaper anywhere else?

Not a chance. The easiest and cheapest way to buy a Ministry of Sleep mattress is right here at www.ministry-of-sleep.com

Can I get a bulk discount?

If you need 4 or more mattresses, then let us know.

We don’t have a corporate rate as we are already priced so competitively, but if you need more than a few then let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
